Found in UK with the DEUS 2 Metal Detector

XP Finds

"The first day of detecting after landing a brand new private permission, I began detecting and quickly realised it was a busy field, packed with signals. Lots of lead targets, pieces of bronze pot, copper coins and all the other usual bits of scrap. I came across a deep and faint target reading 81, I dug down to unearth a beautiful and well preserved Pilgrims Ampulla. Before I got chance to detect much more the winter weather set in and cut my day short.

I decided to go back the following day as I was so tired excited to see what other history I could uncover, I then came across a beautiful 88 high tone signal and only 5 inches under the surface, I could see a thin silver edge and I couldn’t believe when I brushed back the soil on this Henry VI groat.. same day as I found my first ever Roman fibula brooch still with the pin intact, it wasn’t the first fibula that I found that day as I also had found a Roman trumpet brooch earlier in the day also. Then when I thought that the day couldn’t get any better I came across a William III half crown.

After such a great day and a finds pouch full of lead.. I decided to go back the following weekend and see what else I could find, after digging many more lead targets, I picked up a different signal and much to my surprise I stumbled across my first ever gold find, a medieval gold posey ring with decoration and inscription which reads “not the value, but my love” I also found a early roman head stud brooch with orange enamel detailing still intact, over a few more visits I found a Henry VI half groat and 4 Edward I pennies in fantastic condition to really set off 2023 to a flyer, bring on harvest time and I can’t wait to get back out doing what I love to do the most which is metal detect!"
